BARKER AI TOOLS

Best AI Tools for Roofing Contractors (2026)

Roofing runs on speed. After a hailstorm, the company that measures the roof, sends a clean proposal and answers the phone first usually wins the job. AI tools now help with each of those steps: remote measurement reports and photo-based 3D models, proposals that build themselves, roofing CRMs with built-in assistants, AI phone answering and even coaching for in-home sales reps.

This guide covers the main roofing tools in our directory, grouped by the job they do. We list published prices where vendors show them and say so when they don't.

Last updated October 30, 2026. Prices come from each vendor's website (checked October 27 to 30, 2026) and can change; confirm before you buy.

Where AI actually helps a roofing company

  • Measuring without a ladder. Remote measurement reports and photo-based 3D models save a trip on the roof for every estimate and make it faster to quote storm leads.
  • Proposals that go out the same day. When measurements flow straight into a proposal with your materials and prices, homeowners get a number before your competitor shows up.
  • Answering every call. Leak calls come in at night and on weekends. A missed call during storm season is often a lost replacement job.
  • Working the old estimates. Most roofers have a pile of unsold estimates. Automated follow-up by text and phone can bring some of those back.
  • Coaching the sales team. If you run in-home appointments, AI can review conversations so managers coach without riding along on every sit.

Measurements and estimates

Roofr is built only for roofing. Its free Starter plan lets you order measurement reports for $19 each with 24-hour delivery and try 10 proposals, invoices and work orders. The Measure+ plan ($109/mo) drops reports to $13 with faster delivery. Essentials ($249/mo, or $209/mo billed yearly) adds unlimited proposals, e-signatures and card or ACH payments, and Scale ($349/mo, or $299/mo yearly) adds crew management, job costing and QuickBooks. Every plan includes unlimited users. Measurement reports are always billed per report, on top of the plan.

Hover turns smartphone photos into a 3D model with measurements for the roof, siding, gutters and windows. You can also send homeowners a link to scan the house themselves. The Starter plan is pay-as-you-go with no subscription, and your first three projects are free. Pro ($999 a year) takes $20 off every project and unlocks Hover's design, estimate and agreement tools plus CRM integrations. Business ($2,999 a year) switches to one flat rate per scan type. Hover is most useful for exterior work: roofing, siding and windows.

Joist is a low-cost estimating and invoicing app for contractors. It can create estimates and invoices with AI and includes an AI Receptionist for missed calls. Its Basics plan is $10 a month, or about $8.34 a month billed annually, with a 14-day free trial and no card required. Basics caps you at 5 documents a month, so a busy roofer will need Pro ($17 a month) or higher for unlimited documents. It doesn't do measurements, so pair it with Roofr or Hover if you don't measure by hand.

Roofing CRMs

JobNimbus is a CRM and project management tool for roofing and exterior contractors. It has an in-app AI assistant that can perform tasks for you, plus automations and SumoQuote proposals. Pricing is quote-based and depends on your plan and user count: Essentials covers up to 3 users, Pro up to 10 and Premium up to 19, with Enterprise for larger teams. There's a 14-day free trial with no credit card.

AccuLynx is roofing-specific business management software with AI-powered lead intelligence and real-time analytics. It's aimed at mid-size and large roofing contractors. Pricing comes from a request form rather than a public price list.

If your shop also does service and repair work, compare these with general field service platforms in Field Service Management, Scheduling & Dispatch.

Answering calls and following up

Roofr sells an AI Receptionist add-on ($99/mo, or $85/mo billed yearly) that answers calls, books visits and gives quotes. It's a natural fit if you already run your jobs in Roofr.

Hatch is an AI communications platform for the trades. Its AI CSRs answer calls, texts, emails and web leads, then qualify and book them around the clock. It also runs follow-up journeys to reactivate old leads and unsold estimates, and it publishes roofing case studies. Pricing isn't published.

HelloSetter is built for speed to lead. It's an AI appointment setter that calls every new web lead (Angi, Thumbtack, Google LSA, Facebook or your website form) within about 60 seconds, asks your qualifying questions, and books the estimate on the right sales rep's calendar by service, ZIP code and drive time. It keeps following up with calls and voicemails for days and can work through old lead lists. Plans are priced per booked appointment: Starter is $697 a month for 20 appointments, Growth $1,297 for 50 and Scale $2,197 for 120, month to month with no setup fee. There's no free trial, but you get a live test call before you pay. It makes the most sense if you buy web leads and lose jobs to slow callbacks.

For a standalone AI phone answering service, see AI Voice Agents & Receptionists. Sameday AI (from $449/mo) and Avoca AI (quote-based) both list roofing among the trades they serve. For web leads, Podium combines texting, webchat and reviews with an AI agent that qualifies and books leads.

Coaching in-home sales reps

Rilla records in-person sales conversations and gives reps AI feedback on each one, plus AI roleplays for practice. It only makes sense if you have dedicated sales reps running appointments at the kitchen table. Pricing is quote-based.

Siro does a similar job: it records appointments, scores every sit, gives reps next-step prompts and writes their follow-ups, and it publishes roofing customer results. Pricing isn't published; you book a demo.

How to choose

  • Solo roofer or 1 to 3 person crew: start with Roofr's free plan or Hover's free projects for measurements, and Joist if you need cheap estimates and invoices.
  • Growing retail or storm company: a roofing CRM (JobNimbus or AccuLynx) plus a measurement tool, then add AI call answering before storm season.
  • Company with a sales team: add fast lead callbacks (HelloSetter) for new web leads, follow-up automation (Hatch) for unsold estimates, and conversation coaching (Rilla or Siro) for reps.

Whatever you pick, run a free trial during a busy week. See how many calls it answers, how fast proposals go out and how much time your office saves. Browse every roofing tool on our roofing page.

FAQ

What is the cheapest way for a roofer to start using AI tools?

Roofr's Starter plan is $0 a month with pay-per-report measurements ($19 each), and Hover's Starter plan is pay-per-project with your first three projects free. Joist's Basics plan is $10 a month (about $8.34 a month billed annually) for estimates and invoices. Prices were checked on vendor websites in late October 2026.

Do I need a roofing-specific CRM or will a general one work?

Roofing CRMs like JobNimbus and AccuLynx are built around the roofing job flow: inspection, estimate, insurance or retail sale, production and payment. A general CRM can work for a very small crew, but you will build those stages yourself.

Can AI answer my phones during storm season?

Yes. Roofr sells an AI Receptionist add-on that answers calls, books visits and gives quotes, and standalone AI receptionists in our directory can do the same for any roofing company. Test one with a few mock leak calls before a storm hits.
